Dalam hitungan hari setelah dilantik pada 20 Februari 2025, Dedi Mulyadi mencopot dua kepala sekolah karena melanggar kebijakan larangan perjalanan luar provinsi bagi siswa.
Dua kepala sekolah tersebut yakni kepala SMA Negeri 6 Depok dan kepala SMA Negeri 1 Cianjur.
Pada hari pertama menjabat, Dedi Mulyadi langsung menujukkan komitmennya untuk memperbaiki dunia pendidikan.
Salah satu langkah pertamanya adalah mencopot kepala SMA Negeri 6 Depok yang tetap memberangkatkan 347 siswa untuk kunjungan objek belajar ke Surabaya, Jawa Timur.
