This run is just to test the waters to see if there's any interest more dungeon runs like this in the future. To make the dungeon "ultimate" I clear them on master difficulty while lowering my power to 380, which makes all of the enemies -50 as master dungeons have 430 power combatants. This is similar to how the ultimate conquests are -50. I also went for master as the baseline instead of doing -50 from normally, as assuming nothing has changed, master enemies were more aggressive than normal enemies in the past, and they also have champions to deal with.
The run ends up being long and very drawn out, enemies are more threatening (but not as bad a you'd think), and I have to use gear and weapon setups that aren't ideal due to needing items that lower my power to 380.
I could probably shave a phase or two off each boss, but trying to complete this run was pretty cursed and I didn't want to have to restart it yet again. My first attempt I did on Tuesday after reset, I got to the Ogre and I had an unexpected phone call which I had to wipe. I went back to the next morning, once again got half way through the Ogre fight and had somebody at my door which again I had to wipe. I went back Wednesday evening, and again half way through the fight I got the notification servers were going down shortly. My fault to not check server status really, but given the current state of the game I think it's fair to assume a random Wednesday evening wouldn't have maintenance.
Then I had this final run today, which was equally cursed but I wasn't going to reset. During the Fallen Shield encounter the grocery delivery I had booked for 2 hours later randomly decided to show up early (hence the big AFK period). And then during the very final phase of the boss my dog went hyper lol. Many DPS phases were either not set up properly or something went wrong. A servitor got stuck in the wall on Fallen Shield. The final boss I nearly fell off the map during a DPS phase, nearly Truth'd myself, all sorts. I played it much safer than was probably needed as I didn't want to test the limits of what could be done. Not to mention not being used to MnK due to another game I'm playing at the moment. Basically everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. So a very sloppy run overall, but at least there's plenty of stupid moments to laugh at. And despite all that I didn't have to reset it yet again, even if it was 2 hours long.
Anyway, that all being said I'm not sure if there'll be interest in other "ultimate" dungeons going forward. They'll probably be a bit smoother than this but equally long, and it probably won't be for a while. Something I wanted to put out there in the meantime anyway.
