DEUTSCHLAND: Schulden-Hammer! Lars Klingbeil stellt Haushalt für 2026 vor I WELT LIVE DABEIDie Bundesregierung hat den Bundeshaushalt für 2026 auf den Weg gebracht, der zu einem beträchtlichen Teil durch neue Schulden finanziert werden soll. Das Kabinett beschloss am Mittwoch den Etatentwurf von Finanzminister Lars Klingbeil und den Finanzplan bis 2029. Bei Ausgaben von 520,5 Milliarden Euro im Kernhaushalt sind für das kommende Jahr neue Schulden von 174,3 Milliarden Euro vorgesehen. Das wären rund 31 Milliarden Euro mehr als 2025 geplant. Als Gründe für die hohe Verschuldung werden höhere Investitionen und steigende Verteidigungsausgaben genannt.
Angesichts einer dreistelligen Milliardenlücke im Finanzplan ab dem Jahr 2027 rief Klingbeil in der Kabinettsvorlage alle Ministerien zu strikter Ausgabendisziplin und einer grundlegenden Überprüfung ihrer Aufgaben auf. "Das bedeutet nicht nur, auf Ausgabenwünsche verzichten zu müssen, sondern auch, Bestehendes zu hinterfragen", heißt es in der Vorlage. Klingbeil informiert am Vormittag den Haushaltsausschuss über den Kabinettsbeschluss und danach die Presse.
