KOMPAS.TV - Polisi menemukan praktik ayam gelonggongan di rumah pemotongan hewan di Pasar Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta Selatan.Saat penggerebekan, petugas memergoki seorang pekerja tengah menyuntikkan air ke puluhan ekor ayam potong.
Polisi menetapkan pekerja berinisial SY sebagai tersangka.
Praktik ini dilakukan untuk menambah bobot ayam agar dijual dengan harga lebih tinggi.
Setiap ekor ayam yang telah disuntik air mengalami peningkatan berat sekitar 1-2 ons.
Ayam gelonggongan dijual seharga Rp50 ribu per ekor, lebih mahal dari harga normal Rp47 ribu per ekor.
