MARRAKECH (MAROCCO) (ITALPRESS) - La Medina, i palazzi, i mercati, e poi di notte ristoranti e nightclub: Marrakech si conferma la capitale del turismo in Marocco, mostrando con orgoglio la sua anima antica ma coniugandola con la modernità. Anche per questo nel 2024 la città ha registrato un'affluenza record di visitatori vicina ai 4 milioni. Ma nel Paese c'è anche il calcio ad alimentare il turismo e con la Coppa d'Africa alle porte Marrakech si prepara a una nuova sfida. Il Grand Stade, nato nel 2011, è stato ristrutturato nel giro di un anno e l'amichevole fra la squadra locale del Kawkab e i tunisini dell'Etoile Sportive du Sahel è stata scelta per l'inaugurazione dell'impianto nella sua nuova veste. Mantenuta la capacità a 42 mila posti - ma nel 2026 inizieranno i lavori per portarla a 46 mila, in tempo per i Mondiali -, lo stadio è stato dotato di 15 Sky Box e 7 big room nella tribuna ovest e di un ristorante panoramico per 180 coperti, oltre a veder rinnovati spogliatoi, mixed zone e sala stampa. Rifatta anche l'illuminazione, nella pancia dell'impianto sono stati allestiti degli spazi per consentire alle squadre di effettuare il riscaldamento al fresco e sfuggire alle alte temperature che contraddistinguono Marrakech. I lavori hanno riguardato anche la parte esterna, per un investimento complessivo da 34 milioni di dollari, circa 29 milioni di euro.
