Bantahan itu dikeluarkan KDM usai ia menerima sejumlah tudingan hadir dalam Pesta Rakyat anaknya, dan dicap sebagai pemicu warga berdesakan untuk bertemu.
Pernyataan itu disamapikan KDM dalam unggahan video di Instagram pribadinya @dedimulyadi71 pada Selasa (22/7/2025).
Dalam keterangannya ia menyebut bahwa berita itu yang beredar di media sosial adalah kabar bohong.
Pasalnya saat peristiwa terjadi, KDM menuturkan tengah menghadiri acara Fashion Show Sunda Karsa Fest 2025 yang digelar di Hotel Trans, Kota Bandung.
Ia mengikuti acara dari para pelaku usaha tersebut pada pukul 16.30 WIB.
Gubernur Jabar itu bahkan diketahui sempat tampil bersama Ni Hyang Sukma Ayu, putri bungsunya di agenda fashion karya desainer lokal.
KDM mengaku baru datang ke lokasi kejadian untuk menemui korban, setelah melakukan wawancara dengan bersama awak media.
Diketahui sebelumnya, pesta pernikahan yang dilangsunkan putra KDM, Maula Akbar dengan Wakil Bupati Garut, Putri Karlina berakhir ricuh pada Jumat (18/7).
Ada tiga korban yang tewas saat Pesta Rakyat tersebut dilaksanakan.
Dua diantaranya adalah warga yang berdesakan untuk mendapatkan makanan gratis, sementara satunya adalah anggota kepolisian.
Namun pasca insiden itu, KDM diketahui langsung bertanggungjawab dengan menghubungi keluarga korban, serta memberikan uang duka sebesar Rp150 juta per keluarga korban.
