Dalam kontrak anyarnya, PSSI juga memberikan target-target anyar yang harus dicapai pelatih asal Korea Selatan tersebut.
Salah satu target yang harus dicapai yakni membawa Skuad Garuda masuk 100 besar ranking FIFA.
Seperti diketahui, ranking FIFA Indonesia saat ini berada di peringkat ke-134.
“Ya, target naik, Target 100 besar (ranking FIFA). Kalau gaji pasti naik, tidak mungkin tidak,” ungkap Arya Sinulingga di Barito Mansion, Jakarta, Selasa (9/7/2024).
Adapun Shin Tae-yong kini masih berada di Korea Selatan.
Pelatih berusia 53 tahun tersebut dikabarkan kembali ke Indonesia pada 21 Juli.
Setibanya di Jakarta, Shin Tae-yong langsung mempersiapkan Timnas Indonesia senior untuk tampil pada putaran ketiga Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 Zona Asia yang dua laga awal bergulir awal September.
Pertama away ke Arab Saudi pada 5 September dan menjamu Australia 10 September.
Seperti diketahui, pada putaran ketiga ini, Skuad Garuda berada di grup C bersama Arab Saudi, Australia, Bahari, China dan Jepang.
Untuk target di putaran ketiga nanti, Arya mengatakan PSSI masih belum tahu karena menunggu pertemuan dengan Shin Tae-yong.
“Kita belum ketemu STY masa saya yang buat targetnya. Kita harus tanya pelatih, mana saja yang berpotensi (menang-red),” kata Arya.
Hanya, Arya menegaskan dalam Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 ini, PSSI tidak memberikan target Shin Tae-yong untuk membawa Indonesia lolos ke Piala Dunia 2026.
“Tidak ada,” jawab Arya saat ditanya target Shin Tae-yong bawa Indonesia ke Piala Dunia 2026.
