How Air India Trains its Pilots and Cabin Crew

Welcome to the Air India Training Academy where we have an all-access pass to see how the new Air India is building its training program for the future, across every aspect of its operations. This is the new consolidated hub for training everyone from pilots and cabin crew to operations and ground personnel. Previously training was handled at various sites across India, and in many cases simulator training for pilots happened abroad as well. Now Air India is bringing it all together at this location just outside Delhi.

We check out the cabin crew training including firefighting and cabin mockups plus everything to do with ensuring safety onboard, plus we'll see how flight attendants train for business and first class service, learning the products offered inflight and how to talk about them to passengers, and even get a glimpse into where they learn standards for appearance (hair and makeup and more). Then we head over to the massive new simulator facilities, especially the new Airbus sim center, a joint venture with the manufacturer. These areas are still being finished up, with new simulators added, and once finished they'll make up one of the largest and most comprehensive pilot training facilities in South Asia.
