La Procura di Trani ha disposto il fermo di un uomo di 47 anni, senza fissa dimora, ritenuto responsabile della morte di Jacopo Musti, 49enne senza fissa dimora, arrivato a Barletta solo sei mesi prima.
La vittima è deceduta dell'11 aprile nel reparto di rianimazione dell’ospedale di Barletta, dove era arrivato in condizioni disperate il giorno prima in seguito al brutale pestaggio. In quella circostanza, il presunto responsabile avrebbe rintracciato Jacopo Musti per strada e lo avrebbe aggredito con violenza estrema, colpendolo ripetutamente con pugni e calci, molti dei quali diretti alla testa.
Una sequenza di colpi protrattasi per diversi minuti, senza lasciare alla vittima alcuna possibilità di difesa. Anche quando il 49enne si trovava ormai inerme su una panchina, l’azione violenta sarebbe proseguita.
