Sugianti, kuasa hukum Pegi Setiawan menjelaskan bahwa ayah Pegi mengenalkannya sebagai keponakan karena takut ketahuan istri mudanya.
Sebab, saat ini ayah dan ibu Pegi telah berpisah, dan sang ayah sudah memilki istri lagi di Bandung.
Sugianti juga menjelaskan alasan ayah Pegi sengaja mengganti nama Pegi menjadi Robi Irawan.
Hal itu dilakukan sang ayah untuk membohongi istri barunya karena memiliki anak.
Dikutip dari Tribun Jakarta, Sugianti menegaskan bahwa perubahan identitas yang dimaksud tidak melibatkan perubahan dokumen resmi seperti KTP atau ijazah.
