Terkait kabar tersebut, pihak Pertamina mengatakan bahwa insiden ini terjadi saat petugas melakukan pembersihan sludge di sebuah tangki yang kosong.
Tim pemadam di Kilang Cilacap gerak cepat memadamkan api dengan menyemprotkan foam ke tangki dari segala arah.
Pertamina menegaskan bahwa tak ada korban jiwa atas kejadian ini.
Masyarakat diharapkan tetap tenang dan tidak panik.
Saat ini kilang tetap beroperasi normal dan untuk produksi BBM tidak mengalami gangguan.
