Nella notte tra domenica 26 e lunedì 27 luglio Rete ferroviaria italiana ha completato il varo del nuovo cavalcaferrovia di Ponte al Pino: l’impalcato, del peso di circa 550 tonnellate, è stato posizionato in un’unica soluzione con una gru da 2.000 tonnellate. «Le operazioni sono iniziate alle una di notte e durate poco più di due ore - siega Andrea Esposito, Responsabile pianificazione e programmazione industriale di Rfi a proposito della sostituzione di Ponte al Pino - e grazie a questa gru alta 70 metri per 2 mila tonnellate di peso siamo riusciti a completare il lavoro in un'unica soluzione. Un'operazione ingegneristicamente molto complessa». Esposito ha poi illustrato come sarà la nuova struttura. «La nuova trave è lunga 32 metri, larga 13, tre corsie come la precedente, con in più i marciapiede e una pista ciclabile».
