Some comedies make you laugh. Some make you nostalgic. And then there’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, a film that desperately wants to be a comedy of errors but forgets the comedy part entirely.In this episode of First Cut, Dabeet Singh reviews the latest #ayushmankhurana starrer that attempts to recreate the charm of middle-class Bollywood comedies but struggles with weak writing, predictable storytelling, and punchlines that rarely land.
Despite committed performances from #Wamiqagabbi #Rakulpreetsingh and #Saraalikhan, the film, feels stuck between wanting to be quirky and chaotic without fully succeeding at either.
The chemistry between Ayushmann and Wamiqa works in parts, and a few moments genuinely make you chuckle. But the film leans too heavily on tired stereotypes, predictable twists, and humour that feels outdated rather than clever.
The bigger issue is the writing. The jokes feel repetitive, the music often interrupts the flow instead of adding to it, and the story never finds a fresh angle despite a setup that had potential. At a time when Bollywood desperately needs strong theatrical comedies again, this feels like a missed opportunity.
