US-Verteidigungsminister Pete Hegseth hat bei einer Gedenkveranstaltung zum D-Day in der Normandie für Diskussionen gesorgt. In seiner Rede verglich er die Migration nach Europa mit einer Invasion und verwies auf Ankünfte an den Küsten von Spanien, Italien, Griechenland und Bulgarien. Die Äußerungen fielen auf dem US-Friedhof in Colleville-sur-Mer während der Erinnerung an die Landung der Alliierten im Zweiten Weltkrieg.
