Si è svolta alla Farnesina la seconda riunione ministeriale dell’Unione per il Mediterraneo sull’Acqua, ospitata dall’Italia sotto la co-presidenza della Giordania e della Commissione europea. La riunione ha riunito 40 delegazioni dei Paesi membri dell’Unione per il Mediterraneo, confermando l’acqua come una delle priorità della cooperazione regionale, in un contesto segnato da crescente scarsità idrica, cambiamento climatico e pressione sulle risorse naturali. "È stata lanciata la 'Rome Initiative on Water' per raccogliere fondi e definire progetti concreti di sviluppo delle capacità nel settore idrico dei Paesi della sponda Sud del Mediterraneo. L'Italia ha già approvato un primo progetto da 3 milioni di euro per aiutare i Paesi partner a creare progetti immediatamente finanziabili dalle istituzioni internazionali", ha detto il ministro degli Esteri Antonio Tajani.
