Meloni ha espresso stupore per alcune posizioni contrarie al decreto aiuti per l'Ucraina. "Mi stupisce in particolar modo che arrivi da un generale - Roberto Vannacci, ndr - proprio per il tema della deterrenza, i soldati sono i primi che capiscono quanto le forze armate siano fondamentali per costruire pace e non semplicemente per fare la guerra". Riguardo ai contatti con Putin e al possibile rientro della Russia nel G8, Meloni ha paragonato le riflessioni di Salvini a quelle di Macron: "Salvini ha fatto una riflessione sui rapporti dell'Italia come Macron l'ha fatta per esempio sui rapporti con l'Europa".
