BAYERN: Markus Söder und Rheinmetall starten Offensive gegen den MunitionsmangelRheinmetall baut in Aschau am Inn eine neue Pulverfabrik. Das Unternehmen investiert dafür 250 Millionen Euro. Das Werk soll die Munitionsproduktion erhöhen und die strategische Abhängigkeit von China verringern.
Nach Angaben im Beitrag befinden sich die Munitionsbestände des Westens auf einem historischen Tiefstand. Hintergrund sind die massiven Rüstungslieferungen an die Ukraine. Politik und Industrie investieren deshalb in neue Kapazitäten.
Treibladungspulver treibt Waffenmunition an. Es sitzt in der Hülse. Nach der Zündung verbrennt es blitzschnell. Der entstehende Druck schießt die Munition aus dem Rohr.
Als kritischer Rohstoff gilt Nitrozellulose. Sie entsteht aus speziellen Baumwollfasern, den sogenannten Linters. Rund 70 Prozent davon importiert Europa aus China.
Rheinmetall verweist auf eigene Linterswerke und auf Pläne für weitere Standorte. Außerdem arbeitet das Unternehmen an Nitrozellulose aus Holz. Nach Unternehmensangaben reicht der Lagerbestand in Aschau für etwa vier Jahre. Das neue Werk soll die Versorgung mit Pulver und Munition stärken.
