Er habe gedacht, so Wadephul weiter, "nach vier Kriegsjahren, da wären wundgescheuerte Menschen mit den Nerven am Ende".Auf die Lieferung von "Patriot"-Flugabwehrraketen angesprochen, sagte Wadephul, diese würden kommen. Er habe mit vielen Ländern gesprochen, "wo wir wissen, dass sie noch Systeme zur Verfügung haben und sie dringend gebeten darüber nachzudenken, ob sie die der Ukraine zur Verfügung stellen können."
