Indian envoy to Russia Vinay Kumar has slammed US tariffs on India as "unfair, unjustified". The Trump administration imposed an additional 25% tariff on India over New Delhi's purchases of Russian oil. Washington has alleged that New Delhi's oil purchases from Moscow are funding Russia's war in Ukraine, a claim India has strongly rejected. Responding to US tariffs on India in an interview, Kumar said that New Delhi will buy oil where it gets the "best deal.” Speaking on India-Russia trade ties, Kumar said that the trade between the two countries is based on market factors. Kumar also added that India will continue to take measures to protect its national interests.---
