The future of sustainability | Dr. Rosa Arrigo | TEDxUniversityofSalford

Sustainability has evolved from an ambitious concept into a global imperative—but what comes next? In this talk, Dr. Rosa Arigo explores how chemistry is redefining its role in addressing the world's most pressing environmental challenges. From designing adaptable materials and circular systems to harnessing digital innovation and creative thinking, she examines how science can move beyond simply reducing harm to creating resilient, regenerative solutions for the future. Challenging conventional ideas of sustainability, she invites us to rethink how innovation can better serve both people and the planet. Dr Rosa Arrigo is an Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Salford and a Visiting Scientist at Diamond Light Source. Her research focuses on catalysis, sustainable chemical processes and the use of operando spectroscopy to understand chemical reactivity. She works on the development of cleaner technologies that make better use of renewable resources.
Alongside her research activities, she serves on scientific peer review panels at national and international facilities, including her role as a member of the Peer Review Panel at Diamond Light Source and the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility. She contributes to the Royal Society of Chemistry through her involvement in the Dalton Community, supporting work related to inorganic and materials chemistry. She contributes to academic governance and ethics within the University of Salford and is actively involved in programmes that widen participation in science and support the development of early career researchers.
Her work reflects a broader interest in how chemistry can contribute to sustainable practice, responsible innovation and long term environmental integrity. She is committed to advancing scientific knowledge that supports society and encourages the development of resilient and adaptable technologies for the future. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx Receive SMS online on sms24.me

TubeReader video aggregator is a website that collects and organizes online videos from the YouTube source. Video aggregation is done for different purposes, and TubeReader take different approaches to achieve their purpose.

Our try to collect videos of high quality or interest for visitors to view; the collection may be made by editors or may be based on community votes.

Another method is to base the collection on those videos most viewed, either at the aggregator site or at various popular video hosting sites.

TubeReader site exists to allow users to collect their own sets of videos, for personal use as well as for browsing and viewing by others; TubeReader can develop online communities around video sharing.

Our site allow users to create a personalized video playlist, for personal use as well as for browsing and viewing by others.
