Low-sulfur crude allows refineries to process cleaner fuel with significantly lower operational costs, making Pearl Sweet highly attractive to global buyers.Driven by the Tilenga and Kingfisher projects in the Albertine Rift Basin, Uganda holds 1.65 billion barrels of recoverable oil. Initial production begins at 25,000 barrels per day, scaling rapidly towards a peak plateau of 230,000 barrels daily—positioning Uganda to surpass South Sudan as East Africa’s largest crude producer.
