🚨 «Las encuestas en Cuba no miden solo opiniones: también miden miedo».Durante el evento «Political Opinion in Cuba Today: A Poll by Cuban Independent Media», realizado en Florida International University y organizado por el Cuban Research Institute, el politólogo Armando Chaguaceda analizó los enormes desafíos de medir opinión pública en regímenes autoritarios como Cuba.
La presentación giró alrededor de la encuesta «Cuba: perspectivas políticas y sociales», impulsada por una coalición de más de 20 medios independientes, periodistas, académicos y actores de la sociedad civil cubana, entre ellos elTOQUE.
🗣️ Chaguaceda explicó que en contextos autoritarios las personas muchas veces no responden lo que realmente piensan debido a:
▪️ vigilancia estatal
▪️ autocensura
▪️ miedo a represalias
▪️ falta de confianza en el anonimato
«En democracia preguntas qué piensa la gente. En autocracia preguntas qué dice la gente sobre aquello que piensa».
El investigador defendió además el valor cívico y político de estas encuestas, incluso con limitaciones metodológicas, porque permiten detectar fisuras sociales, cambios de percepción y niveles de descontento difíciles de observar en sistemas cerrados.
