Si era lamentato soprattutto dei costi esosi che la Nato comporta per Washington. Il "codino biondo che fa impazzire il mondo" aveva altresì minacciato la possibile uscita degli Stati Uniti d'America dal patto atlantico, sostenendo che è inaccettabile che la civiltà del dollaro si sobbarchi i costi maggiori del progetto. E adesso con una delle sue usuali strambate, il bizzoso e volubile imperatore della civiltà del hamburger fa retromarcia e dice che gli Stati Uniti d'America rimarranno nella Nato.
Quod erat demonstrandum. Era evidente da subito infatti che gli Stati Uniti d'America non avrebbero abbandonato la Nato, non fosse altro che per il fatto che essa nacque nel 1949 con il duplice obiettivo di garantire la permanenza dell'Europa sotto il comando di Washington e di propiziare l'imperialismo a stelle e strisce nel mondo intero. In antitesi con la narrazione mendace che celebra la Nato come strumento difensivo, la Nato svolge stabilmente una funzione imperialistica di aggressione di tutti i governi che, per una ragione o per un'altra, risultino disallineati rispetto al Washington consensus.
