Heavy fighting in northern Ethiopia: Pro-government forces say they have captured Alamata
Ethiopia's army says it now controls the town of Alamata in the northern Tigray region.In recent weeks, fighting has intensified between federal forces and an alliance of armed groups in the north.
There are growing fears of a return to full-scale civil war.
A previous two-year conflict left an estimated 600,000 people dead.
