JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Di Program ROSI, Kapolri Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo menjelaskan dirinya memang memerintahkan bawahannya untuk menggunakan peluru karet saat ada kelompok anarkis masuk dan membakar markas hingga asrama Kepolisian. Hal itu disampaikan merespons kondisi genting yang terjadi di berbagai daerah."Ya, saya kira memang itu fakta ya bahwa pas terjadi musibah, terlindas, kemudian situasi yang ada menjadi tidak normal, kondisinya semakin meningkat, bahkan terjadi pembakaran di mana-mana, Markas Komando kita dibakar, DPRD dibakar, moril anggota jatuh. Dan saat itu yang saya pikirkan hanyalah satu bagaimana caranya moril mereka bangkit," katanya.
Kapolri juga menyampaikan kepada anggota untuk melaksanakan kewenangan yang dimiliki sesuai dengan aturan undang-undang, termasuk penggunaan peluru karet, peluru tajam, bila diperlukan karena aturannya sudah ada.
"Dan kalau ada apa-apa, Listyo Sigit, Kapolri, siap dicopot. Karena saat itu anggota saya, anggota kita, sedang dalam posisi yang morilnya sangat jatuh. Dan perlu ada yang mengambil alih tanggung jawab itu. Dan saya siap melakukan itu," katanya lagi.
