Per esempio, il colosso statunitense è presente in importanti istituti bancari come per esempio il Monte dei Paschi di Siena, l'Unicredit, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mediobanca, la Biper, Fineco Bank, Banco BPM. Le quote del fondo si estendono anche alle principali partecipate statali e alle aziende energetiche o di telecomunicazioni, tra cui per esempio Enel, Terna, Snam, Italgas, Saipem, TIM.
Nel settore della difesa e della produzione di armamenti BlackRock ha superato la soglia del 3% anche in Leonardo. Questa espansione è stata favorita da rapporti istituzionali culminati anche negli incontri tra la presidente del Consiglio Giorgia Meloni e l'amministratore delegato Larry Fink. L'interesse del fondo statunitense BlackRock si estende inoltre ai titoli di Stato italiani, con oltre 1 miliardo di euro investito in bond governativi italiani.
