SURABAYA, KOMPAS.TV - Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir mengapresiasi kemenangan Indonesia atas Taiwan di FIFA Matchday pada Jumat (5/9/2025).
Namun timnas meminta skuad Garuda tidak berpuas diri karena Lebanon yang akan dihadapi di laga berikutnya menjadi lawan yang setara.
Ketua Umum PSSI Erick Thohir menyaksikan secara langsung laga Indonesia melawan Taiwan di Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo Surabaya, Jumat (5/9/2025) malam.
Skuad Garuda diminta tidak berpuas diri, karena level lawan yang dihadapi masih di bawah timnas Indonesia.
Lebanon yang akan dihadapi di laga selanjutnya dinilai sebagai lawan setara bagi anak asuh pelatih Patrick Kluivert.
Laga FIFA Matchday ini merupakan persiapan timnas Indonesia untuk menghadapi babak kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 putaran keempat Oktober nanti.
Pelatih timnas, Patrick Kluivert puas dengan kemenangan besar 6-0 atas Taiwan.
Ia menilai anak asuhannya menjalankan taktik yang diterapkannya dengan baik.
Pelatih asal Belanda ini juga memuji mentalitas para pemainnya. Mereka tetap fokus siapapun lawan yang dihadapi di lapangan.
Kemenangan ini membuat skuad Garuda mendapat tambahan 3,25 poin.
Berdasarkan perhitungan sementara, peringkat Indonesia naik dua peringkat ke posisi 116 dunia.
