Russia Reportedly Using Fake Tom Cruise to Defame 2024 Paris Olympics | Firstpost AmericaRussian propaganda groups have been targeting the Paris Olympics with a disinformation campaign that includes deploying a deepfake of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise to narrate a documentary, which shows him criticising the International Olympic Committee, according to reports. A network of these propagandists is running "malign influence campaigns" against France, its President Emmanuel Macron, the Olympic committee, and the Games. The fake Netflix documentary is titled "Olympics Has Fallen" which is word play on the 2013 film "Olympus Has Fallen". The four-part documentary claims to have been rated five stars by top media outlets and celebrities like David Beckham, Miley Cyrus, and Mike Tyson. The disinformation drive was kicked off last year in response to the Olympic committee's decision to ban Russian athletes from competing in the Games under their country's flag over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
