Così la premier Meloni nel suo discorso in Senato in vista del Consiglio Ue «La seconda riguarda i cosiddetti rebates, gli sconti sui contributi di cui godono alcuni Stati membri sui quali la nostra la nuova proposta non registra alcun progresso – ha proseguito - Trovo difficile spiegare perché proprio chi chiede di modernizzare il bilancio, cioè di ridurlo, pretenda di conservare i privilegi nati in un'altra fase dell'integrazione europea: se la modernizzazione deve esserci deve valere per tutti.
