Should you rely on a custom grip or grip putty to place your hand correctly on the bow?In this video, I answer a question from one of my Patrons about whether your grip should guide your hand or whether you should be able to place your hand correctly no matter what bow you’re holding.
This is something I learned firsthand at the Olympic Training Center. My coach made it clear: before using any grip modification, I needed to learn proper structure and placement with or without a grip.
A custom grip can enhance consistency once you know proper form, but it should never be a crutch. Learn how to build the right foundation so your hand position stays solid, no matter what bow you pick up.
