Viel wurde in den vergangenen Wochen und Monaten berichtet, nun ist es so weit: Sachsen-Anhalt wählt. Am Sonntag sind 1,7 Millionen Menschen aufgerufen, abzustimmen. Das Wahlergebnis wird bundesweit verfolgt und dürfte Auswirkungen über die Landesgrenzen hinaus haben. Grund genug, die Ausgangslage noch einmal abzubilden.Host Malte Pieper macht Euch in dieser Folge von "Wahlkreis Ost" fit für den Wahltag. Mit dabei ist Doreen Jonas, die MDR-Landeskorrespondentin für Sachsen-Anhalt. Sie kennt das Land, die Menschen und vor allem die wichtigsten Akteure bei dieser Wahl sehr gut und berichtet aus einem Bundesland, in dem es derzeit so politisch und emotional zugeht, wie sonst kaum. Diese Wahl bringt buchstäblich die Massen auf die Straße, vor allem bei der AfD, aber beispielsweise auch bei den Linken. Über allem steht die Frage, wie stark die AfD am Ende sein wird. Die hat laut Jonas einen Wahlkampf nach US-Vorbild hingelegt. Der CDU droht ein historisch schlechtes Ergebnis. Dabei spielt auch der Kanzler Friedrich Merz eine Rolle. Und entscheidend ist auch die Frage, wer es über die 5-Prozent-Hürde schafft – und wer nicht.
