Pejabat AS pekan lalu mengatakan bahwa Washington tak bisa mencegah serangan Israel di Lebanon selatan.
AS juga memindahkan kapal serbu amfibi USS Wasp ke Mediterania timur untuk mencegah milisi pro-Iran meningkatkan serangan.
Sebelumnya diberitakan, militer Lebanon telah menerima dana tambahan dari Qatar.
Dana senilai 20 juta dolar digelontorkan untuk pasukan Lebanon.
Bantuan ini datang di tengah rencana Israel menyerang Beirut.
