Der Rechtsextremismus bleibe die „größte Bedrohung“ für die freiheitliche demokratische Grundordnung, schreibt Innenminister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) im Vorwort des Verfassungsschutzberichts 2025. Es ist eine Einordnung, die dort im vergangenen Jahr gefehlt hatte. Das rechtsextremistisches Personenpotenzial ist aus Sicht des Verfassungsschutzes auf 58.700 Personen gestiegen (2024: 50.250), darunter 15.600 gewaltorientierte Personen (2024: 15.300). Die Zahl der rechtsextremistischen Gewalttaten stieg im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 8,9 Prozent.Gudrun Heinrich von der Universität Rostock leitet dort die Arbeitsstelle politische Bildung und Demokratiepädagogik und ordnet den Bericht im tagesschau24-Interview ein.
