Otaola muestra la Cuba que sí construía viviendas: Luyanó antes del comunismo
El influencer y activista cubanoamericano Alex Otaola, presidente de la fundación cubana anticomunista, invita a mirar atrás para entender qué significa voluntad política real. A través de un reportaje histórico, Otaola muestra cómo en 1944, durante la Cuba republicana, se inició la construcción del barrio obrero de Luyanó como un proyecto integral pensado para la gente.Otaola destaca datos concretos: 100 viviendas individuales, ocho edificios de cuatro plantas, comercios en planta baja, áreas deportivas, escuela, supermercado y calles planificadas. Casas de ladrillo, placa de hormigón, pisos de mosaico y jardines. Todo esto, subraya, antes del comunismo, en la misma Cuba que hoy vive entre basura y ruinas.
Desde su análisis, Otaola desmonta el discurso repetido durante décadas de que “antes no había casas” o que “todo era miseria”. Señala que, aun con defectos y errores, existía una visión de desarrollo donde el resultado del trabajo del gobierno sí llegaba al pueblo y quedaba visible en barrios completos.
El cierre es una reflexión directa: esto es voluntad política. No consignas, no excusas, no bloqueo. Gobiernos imperfectos, sí, pero con resultados tangibles. Y esa comparación, dice Otaola, es lo que el régimen no quiere que el pueblo cubano recuerde.
