António Guterres insta a volver a centrarse en la resolución política de la crisis de Gaza
"Debemos volver a centrarnos en encontrar una solución política que ponga fin a la ocupación y resuelva el conflicto de acuerdo con el derecho internacional y las resoluciones pertinentes de las Naciones Unidas", declaró Courtenay Rattray, jefe de gabinete del secretario general de la ONU, en nombre del jefe de la ONU, en el debate del Consejo de Seguridad sobre Gaza.Rattray destacó las graves circunstancias en Gaza, caracterizadas por el conflicto y la anarquía, y expresó su preocupación por la escalada de inestabilidad regional.
Rattray indicó que en las últimas semanas, las operaciones militares y los combates israelíes se han intensificado en toda Gaza y que los grupos armados palestinos siguen lanzando cohetes desde Gaza hacia centros de población israelíes; por lo que subrayó la importancia de actuar de inmediato para hacer frente a estas crisis.
Rattray concluyó con un llamamiento a todas las partes implicadas para que intensifiquen sus esfuerzos para poner fin a la violencia y trabajen por una resolución duradera que respete los derechos y la dignidad de todas las personas implicadas.
