Il conflitto è nato ormai due anni fa, per la conquista dei territori del Donbass e della Crimea e le province del Donetsk e del Lugansk. Frazioni che oggi, sono sotto l'egida di Putin.
"Realisticamente i confini che la Russia aveva prima, oggi non ci sono più, quindi non ci rientrerà più" spiega il professore ed editorialista Paolo Becchi. "Se non andiamo a capo di questo, la pace non potrà mai avvenire. La guerra poteva finire molto prima, se fossero state riconosciute le due repubbliche del Donbass con la loro autonomia. C'è stato un periodo in cui sembrava che la trattativa di pace fosse in atto, ma invece non c'è stata. Il risultato è che ora la Russia non mollerà più quei territori".
Questo però non sembra livellare le convinzioni dei vertici Nato. L'Italia ad esempio ha aumentato il computo annuale in armi da 1,2 a 1,7 miliardi ora devoluti alla causa. Il tutto sulla spinta del cambio di rotta della Nato, che investe altri 40 miliardi in armi: "Il messaggio della Nato in realtà non riguarda Russia o Ucraina. Il messaggio è rivolto alla #Cina: hanno paura che stringano ulteriormente i contatti con la Russia, ed è quello che sta succedendo".
