Zambia's president Hakainde Hichilema has been re-elected for a second term after the general elections on August 13. Hichilema won over 60% of the vote in the presidential election. But a number of controversies have come to light in the days after the polls. The Zambian police conducted a raid at the residence of opposition candidate Brian Mundubile after the election ended. During the raid the police shot Zambia's former transport minister, Mutotwe Kafwaya. The police have now confirmed that Kafwaya has succumbed to his injuries.
