In 2011, I quit my job to be free. And for the first few weeks, with a whole empty day in front of me, I did almost nothing. That's when I learned something I've been relearning ever since. The freedom we all chase, the wide open field with no rules and no limits, isn't the freedom that actually makes a life. Too much of it doesn't set you free. It quietly traps you.In this episode of The Inner Game, I talk about the fences we build with our own hands. The writing hour. The budget. The checklist. The rules that look like restrictions but are really the thing that lets you breathe. And why, in investing especially, the people who survive the open field are the ones who fenced it first.
