Pelaku diketahui bernama Adji Darma Saputra (28), warga Dusun Bulusari, Pekon Bulukarto, Kecamatan Gadingrejo.
Pelaku yang juga adik ipar korban, dijerat pasal berlapis dengan ancaman hukuman maksimal 15 tahun penjara.
Kapolsek Gadingrejo, AKP Herman mengatakan, pelaku dijerat Pasal 351 KUHP tentang penganiayaan dan Pasal 338 KUHP tentang pembunuhan.
Dalam foto yang beredar, pelaku terlihat mengenakan baju tahanan bewarna oranye dengan tangan terikat borgol.
Wajahnya tampak tegang dan cemas, meskipun dijaga ketat oleh petugas kepolisian.
Kasus ini bermula dari perselisihan keluarga yang dipicu ucapan korban, Alfian (35), yang membuat pelaku tersinggung.
Emosi yang tak terkendali membuat Adji nekat mengambil parang dari atas lemari lalu menyerang korban.
Serangan itu baru berhenti setelah dilerai oleh mertua mereka yang berada di lokasi.
Akibatnya, korban mengalami luka parah dan sempat dilarikan ke rumah sakit, namun nyawanya tidak dapat diselamatkan.
Polisi segera mengamankan pelaku tak lama setelah kejadian untuk mencegah amuk massa.
Saat ini pelaku masih menjalani pemeriksaan intensif di Polsek Gadingrejo guna mempertanggungjawabkan perbuatannya.
