Dalam rekaman CCTV yang beredar, rombongan TNI tiba-tiba mendatangi Mapolres Tarakan dan melakukan pengeroyokan.
Sejumlah oknum TNI itu kemudian melakukan pemukulan hingga menginjak anggota polisi.
Akibat peristiwa itu lima anggota Polres Tarakan mengalami luka-luka.
Kepala Penerangan Kodam/VI Mulawarman Kolonel Kav Kristiyanto mengungkap peristiwa itu terjadi akibat kesalahpahaman semata.
Menurutnya peristiwa itu bukan merupakan kejadian yang disengaja ataupun bersifat institusional.
Namun peristiwa itu terjadi akibat kesalahpahaman antar individeu.
Informasi itu ia peroleh setelah pihak Kodam VI/Mulawarman melakukan mediasi dengan sejumlah pihak.
“Ini murni kesalahpahaman antar individu, bukan masalah antar institusi," kata Kolonel Kav Kristiyanto.
Kolonel Kav Kristiyanto mengatakan pihaknya terus memantau situasi agar suasana di lapangan tetap kondusif. (Tribun-Video.com/TribunKaltara.com)
