C’è una persona che gira per il Salone del Libro con un quadro in mano: si tratta di Ioannis Melanitis, il vice Rettore dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Atene e tra i protagonisti più audaci della Bio Art europea. Il quadro che ha in mano ritrae il presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump e fa parte di «Ritratti umoristici, non comici» (Elia Publications) presentato allo Spazio Corriere giovedì 14 maggio. «Parto da una base a livello cromatico, ho utilizzato la carne e le piume per interpretare Trump» racconta Melanitis in dialogo con il caporedattore di Corriere Torino Carmine Festa. Allo stesso modo, Putin viene raffigurato con le piume, «come se alla prima folata di vento potesse venire spazzate via. Non è facile ottenere questi dettagli che vorrei veritieri. Utilizzo un pennello di bambù» aggiunge l’artista un po’ in italiano un po’ in inglese. La presenza di Melanitis al Lingotto Fiere sottolinea il ruolo della Grecia come Stato ospite al Salone del Libro 2026: «Per me il miglior pezzo d’arte si trova a Torino - conclude l’autore -. È una piccola statua che raffigura Eros dormiente. Si trova al Museo di Antichità, ora è in prestito al Louvre e io sono qui che aspetto che ritorni a Torino per ammirarla».
