JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Perdana Menteri Inggris, Keir Starmer menyatakan bencana kemanusiaan yang terjadi di Gaza harus segera dihentikan."Gambar-gambar tentang kelaparan dan keputusasaan itu sungguh mengerikan. Penolakan bantuan kepada anak-anak dan bayi sama sekali tidak dapat dibenarkan," ujar Keir Starmer.
Pernyataan tersebut muncul setelah Presiden Prancis Emmanuel Macron mengumumkan negaranya akan menjadi kekuatan besar Barat pertama yang secara resmi mengakui negara Palestina.
Pengumuman tersebut rencananya akan diformalisasi dalam Sidang Umum PBB pada September mendatang.
