Nel corso della trasmissione diMartedì, Pier Luigi Bersani ha commentato con toni molto netti gli sviluppi della crisi tra Stati Uniti, Israele e Iran, soffermandosi in particolare sulle conseguenze strategiche del conflitto. Secondo l’ex ministro, era del tutto prevedibile che Teheran reagisse colpendo un punto cruciale come lo Stretto di Hormuz, uno snodo fondamentale per il traffico mondiale di petrolio e quindi leva decisiva sul piano geopolitico. Bersani ha sottolineato come stupirsi di una simile mossa significhi, a suo avviso, non comprendere la dinamica dei rapporti di forza internazionali: quando una potenza viene attaccata, tende a rispondere utilizzando gli strumenti più efficaci a sua disposizione.
