Prajurit berusia 24 tahun itu dilaporkan mengalami tekanan mental berat usai bertugas di Gaza dan Lebanon dalam konflik militer.
Ia sering bercerita kepada ibunya tentang bau mayat dan gambaran jenazah yang terus menghantuinya.
Dikutip dari Jerusalem Post, pasukan IDF itu pernah mengangkut jasad-jasad rekannya yang gugur di medan perang.
Hal itu sangat membekas pada pikiran dan memperparah kondisinya.
Sementara itu, Daniel sempat menerima tunjangan dan perawatan dari Kementerian Pertahanan Israel.
Namun kondisinya terus memburuk, hingga dirawat di rumah sakit jiwa.
Bahkan kondisi mentalnya kian melemah hingga akhirnya prajurit IDF itu nekat bunuh diri dengan cara tragis.
Jasad Daniel ditemukan dalam kondisi hangus setelah membakar diri di dalam mobilnya di Hutan Biriya, Israel.
Prajurit IDF itu dikabarkan kerap mengamuk hingga merusak apartemen lantaran tak tahan dengan penderitaannya.
