A 6-3 Supreme Court? No, it’s more like a 3-3-3 split among the nine justices – the divide not simply a matter of left vs. right, or which president made the appointment. Veteran court watcher Sarah Isgur explains various factors going into the court’s pending decisions on such contentious matters as “birthright citizenship” and the administrative state, as well as its rocky relationship with President Trump (not a fan of the court’s ruling on tariffs) and its role in a Washington consumed by partisan warfare.
