The political turmoil in the country is intensifying over claims of differences within the Election Commission. Today, Congress workers are on the streets in various cities, carrying banners and posters. Following Rahul Gandhi's press conference yesterday, Congress had announced a nationwide protest for today. Congress is demanding the immediate removal of the Chief Election Commissioner. Elections are due in Uttar Pradesh next year, and Congress has protested here as well. 50 to 60 Congress workers are present at the protest. Only a handful of people have gathered at the election campaign site. It is reported that Congress and the Samajwadi Party have called separate protests on this issue. The Samajwadi Party is busy with Akhilesh Yadav's Rath Yatra, while Congress leaders took to the streets in Lucknow with a few workers.
