Yet again, the US is threatening to strike Iran as tensions between the two countries run high.Washington accuses Tehran of a crackdown on internal protests against a worsening economic situation.
In the face of US threats, Iran has warned America's allies in the region of consequences if a strike is made.
Many of those allies have hosted US military assets for decades. Iran says they will be targeted if it is attacked.
Washington relies heavily on its military presence in the Gulf, claiming it's vital to the defence of the United States.
But will it protect America's allies and interests?
