Menteri Dalam Negeri (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian menceritakan momen pihaknya mencari dokumen untuk membuktikan 4 pulau sengketa antara Aceh dan Sumatera Utara (Sumut) merupakan sah milik Aceh. Ia bahkan meminta untuk bongkar apa pun.
Menurut Tito, untuk mendukung 4 pulau sengketa masuk wilayah Aceh ada dokumen yang kesepakatan yang ditandatangani oleh Gubernur Aceh dan Gubernur Sumut, serta disaksikan oleh Mendagri pada tahun 1992 terkait pulau masuk provinsi Aceh.
