“Noi facciamo di tutto per chiedere perdono alle vittime del nostro reato, ma anche a tutta la società, però abbiamo bisogno di non essere invisibili”. Così ci parla Maria (nome di fantasia), fra le 10 ragazze ospiti dell’Istituto Penale per i minorenni di Casal del Marmo, a Roma. Con lei anche una cinquantina di ragazzi, in maggioranza stranieri. “Arrivano ragazzi deprivati di tutto, con alle spalle lunghe storie di immigrazione, noi cerchiamo di restituire alla società dei discreti cittadini” – ci spiega il direttore dell’IPM Giuseppe Chiodo. E qui lo si fa con psicologi, psichiatri, mediatori culturali (mai abbastanza), che li aiutano ad affrontare i loro fantasmi. Ma anche con corsi di italiano, scuola, laboratori di parruccheria e oreficeria. Da questi laboratori sono usciti croci e arredi religiosi per il Vaticano. E da qui è uscita la canzone che accompagna il reportage “Nel gabbio”, realizzata nel laboratorio di musica rap dell'associazione Crisi Come Opportunità nell'ambito del progetto Presidio Culturale Permanente negli IPM.La prima puntata di un viaggio che ci porterà anche negli IPM di Milano, Bologna e Palermo sarà in onda su Radio 24 il 13 settembre alle 8.15.
