In this moving talk, Sujitha, a development professional with over a decade of field experience, shares stories from villages, salt pans, and coastal communities that reveal the true cost of silence and the transformative power of awareness. She shows how knowing one’s rights can turn quiet endurance into collective empowerment , proving that real change begins not with charity, but with courage. For over 15 years, Ms. Sujitha has been a steadfast advocate for marginalised communities. Her journey began as a tribal educator in the Javadu Hills and now continues in Ramanathapuram, where she manages a critical project to bring water to 455 villages. Her work has also extended to securing the welfare of salt pan workers, slum children, transgender persons, and coastal communities. While the focus of each initiative differed—from water and education to health and livelihood—Ms. Sujitha views them all as interconnected.
